CompTIA Network+ certification was introduced by Computing Technology Industry Association (CompTIA) in 1999 to test the skills of network technicians with some amount of relevant experience in this field. It tests the minimum knowledge required for working on a network and some prerequisites for network design and implementation. Network+ exam patterns were updated in 2002, 2005, and 2009.

You should start the preparation at least a few months before the exam so that you do not feel rushed. Start slowly and then get yourself up to the full preparation mode. Review the expected range of study material for the LX0-104 exam. Once you have an idea of what the exam will cover, review the documents to cover the objectives.

On the podcast, CompTIA's VP for certifications talked up the value of the ANSI/ISO accreditation and said that the policy change was "very much in response to their evolving requirements." It doesn't make CompTIA much money (and the group is a nonprofit in any event), especially since it requires more backend work by CompTIA to track and verify continuing ed credits. "If we don't keep this thing rigorous and certified at the ISO level," he said, "it loses some of its shine."
