Passing the CompTIA A+ Exams

Software runs on hardware. It’s really just that simple. When today’s technology professional goes onto a site to resolve a problem, it’s usually because it couldn’t be resolved remotely through session shadowing. It is just as likely that the problem is with the hardware as it might be with the software. In fact, it is usually somewhat likelier.

So the age of the “heh, I’m a SOFTWARE guy. I don’t touch hardware!” attitude is long over. In fact, its downright unprofessional and unproductive. When a professional shows up at a customer site, they want to leave that site with the problem solved. It’s a matter of honor, of pride. To assure that, they need to be able to resolve whatever they may encounter, hardware or software.

Experience may include creating a personal blog, managing social media sites or helping family members install and repair home computer systems. Demonstrating technical skills includes studying for and passing certification exams.
