Use best practices for permissions and authentication, firewalls, and file management
Troubleshoot user, app and hardware issues by analyzing Linux system properties and processes

Required exams: Earning the CompTIA Linux+ certification requires passing one exam — CompTIA Linux+ (XK0-004).
Prerequisites: None.
Recommended experience: While there are no specific prerequisites for the exam, CompTIA recommends that candidates have CompTIA A+ and CompTIA Network+ certifications, as well as 12 months of experience in Linux administration.

Cert Update: As of April 2, 2019, CompTIA introduced its own single replacement exam CompTIA Linux+ (XK0-004). Previously, CompTIA partnered with the Linux Professional Institute for CompTIA Linux+ certification. CompTIA offered the LPIC-1 exams under their own CompTIA LX0-103 and LX0-104 names. Both exams were required to attain CompTIA Linux+ certification.
